His distinctive style is instantly recognizable - red eyed, grinning skulls - a design that we have featured on the packaging for this Special Edition machine.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eBorn in 1954, Gill started drawing and drafting designs in 1969 - an artistic career that was put on pause by serving 2 years in the Marine Corps during the Vietnam War. After his time overseas, Gill started as an apprentice in 1974 under the teaching of Doc Dog and has been tattooing ever since. Gill was also a formative influence on Franco Vescovi, who first met him in the mid 90s. As a legend in the world of tattooing and a coproducer of one of the most important tattooing conventions, the Inkslingers' Ball, he impacted Franco's perception on the industry as a role model of what a genuine tattoo artist should be. Because of this, Franco considers it an honor to be able to look out for the old timers in the industry as they are a small group that is only getting smaller.
